November 24, 1991 - August 1, 2013

Preston Timothy Kutach passed away in Columbus, Texas on Thursday, August 1, 2013, at the too young age of 21. He was born November 24, 1991 in Eagle Lake, Texas. He was born to and survived by his parents, Steve Victor Kutach, III, and Bobbie Lynn (Hopkins) Gustus and step-father Rodney Alan Gustus. Preston is also survived by his wife, Danielle Harney Kutach, and his daughter, Zoey Lynne Kutach; his brothers, Jordan Wesley Kutach, Levi Jasper Gustus and Wyatt Dane Kutach; his sisters, Bailey Rae Gustus and Morgyn Victoria Kutach; by his grandparents, William Robert (Bobby) Hopkins and Judy Ann Hopkins, and Steve Victor Kutach, Jr. and Delores Helen Kutach; his step-grandparents Charlie and Sandra Gustus; and by his great grandmother, Billy Jean Hudson; step-grandmother Barbara Stokely; by multiple aunts and uncles including Preston’s maternal aunts, Robin and husband, Norman Wormington, and Amanda Hopkins (Nana) and husband, Dusty Henry; paternal aunts, Delila and husband, Shannon Owers and Sherri and husband, Steven Cardwell; and his uncles Victor Kutach and Ronnie and wife, Brooke Kutach; as well as by many great aunts and uncles; by many cousins, including Kyle Rollins, William and Dutch Reynolds, Lucas Thompson, Jace and Trinity Rayne Henry, Junior Zepeda, Ross and Ashley Owers, Brooke and Dylan Cardwell and Riley and Chloe Kutach, as well as many other extended cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his great grandfather, Chester Hudson, his great grandmother, Julie Kutach, great grandparents, John and Maye Hopkins, his uncle Bob Hudson, his aunt Nancy Bownds, his cousin Cody Kutach.

Preston resided with his family in Rock Island, Texas, including his love and companion Danielle, his beautiful daughter Zoey, and his younger brother Jordan. He was a wonderful father and his whole world revolved around his daughter from the day she was born until the day that he passed. Every thought and every plan he ever had or ever made was for her. Preston always enjoyed hanging out with his friends, the closest of whom were his brother Jordan, Wesley Leal, Victor Cantu, and his cousin Kyle. Preston and Kyle were so close that they were more like brothers than cousins and were often even mistaken for the other. He loved music and just loved to have a good time. He enjoyed being at the beach and at the river and loved to fish and had even already bought Zoey her very first fishing pole and couldn’t wait to teach her how to fish.

He also enjoyed shooting pistols with his grandpa Bobby and little brother, Levi. He was a tough-loving big brother, but looked after his siblings, most especially Jordan, for his entire life- all the way to the end. Preston ultimately gave his life for love. He has paid his dues. He is square with the house. The Bible says, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” Preston had the biggest and most loving heart, and he wore it in his smile for the whole world to see, a beautiful and unforgettable smile that everyone knows and loves and will always remember him by.
