November 9, 1929 - July 22, 2018

Leroy Gustav Perrard, 88, of Columbus, Texas, died peacefully in his sleep on July 22nd, 2018, while recovering from open heart surgery in the care of TLC in Columbus.
Leroy was born on November 9th, 1929, in Whitting, to Edmund and Lena Spies Perrard. Leroy served his country in the Army for 16 months in Japan, during the Korean War. Upon his return, he drove a gravel truck for 23 years under the supervision of Melvin (Bob) Perrard and accompanied by his nephew, Robert, for many of those years. In his later years, Leroy drove cars all over Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma under the supervision of Mr. Woody for 11 years. Leroy said they became, 'the best of friends'.
Leroy loved to fish, work on cars, trucks and lawnmowers. He also loved to swing dance to the oldies and sing along with Hank Sr., in the car or with karaoke. When something was broken, Leroy could mend it. He enjoyed helping his fellow man; stranger, friend or family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Charlene Fojt and Earline Britton, his sister-in-law, Virginia Perrard and brother-in-law, Ike Korenek.
He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Ann Perrard and her three children, seven grandchildren and 2 great children, brother Bob and his wife Helen Perrard of Weimar, brother Bernard Perrard of Weimar, and brother Roy Lee Perrard of Rockdale; sisters Nettilee Korenek of Taylor and Bernice Billeck of Weimar, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Leroy's huge personality will be missed by anyone that ever had the pleasure of his company, especially his family, special friends, Angie Galvan and Walter and Isabelle Evans, neighbor, Harold Manuel and others he considered to be an extension of his family.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the Rosary service immediately following at 7:00 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, on Tuesday, July 24th.
The funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, the 25th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Michaels Catholic Church in Weimar, with Father Wayne Flagg officiating.
