Alfred "Boobie" E. Schindler

October 7, 1924 - March 10, 2018

Alfred E. Schindler, Age 93, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, March 10, 2018. He was born October 7, 1924, in Schulenburg, Texas, to Alfred J. Schindler and Rosa Kasper Schindler of Schulenburg, Texas.

Alfred is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kathleen Staff Schindler, son Al Schindler and wife Roxanne of Eagle Lake, TX, daughter Anna Schindler of Columbus, TX, son Eddie Schindler and wife Cate of Round Rock, TX, daughter Dana Schindler, of Willis, TX, son Vernon Schindler and wife Ilene of Columbus, TX, and son Wade Schindler of Columbus, TX; 13 grandchildren, Garrett Schindler and wife Casey, Cassy Althaus and husband Matthew, Craig Weido, Kaitlyn Schindler, Keardon Schindler, Cora Schindler, Riley Weido, Ross Weido, Cason Schindler, Bryce Schindler, Ava Schindler, Lainey Schindler, and Layla Schindler; 4 great- grandchildren, Owen Althaus, Brooks Schindler, Emilia Althaus, and Nash Schindler. That he held in his heart most dearly.

Alfred is also survived by his brother Leroy Schindler and wife Rose Mary of Schulenburg TX, brother, Francis Schindler and wife Jerlyn of Schulenburg TX, brother Daniel Schindler and wife Hilda of San Antonio, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister Marie (Schindler) Skarke and husband Wilbert Skarke and special aunt Adella Schindler.

Pallbearers are Garrett Schindler, Craig Weido, Keardon Schindler, Riley Weido, Ross Weido, Cason Schindler, and Bryce Schindler

A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at 10 a.m., followed by a rosary at 12 p.m. and funeral mass at 1 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church 1261 Old Nada Rd, Nada, TX 77460, with Father Peter Kwasi Yeboah-amanfo officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Nada, TX with military honors by the United States Navy.

In lieu of flowers memorials donations may be made in honor of Alfred E. "Boobie" Schindler to

Maryknoll Fathers & Brothers for the Mission work of Father Ed Schoellmann in Bakundi, Kenya, Africa for the relief of famine and poverty.
