Betty was a member of the Heritage Society of Houston and worked tirelessly on the gardens at Sam Houston Park. She was a member of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church in Houston and then First United Methodist Church in Columbus, always serving on committees and boards, singing in the choir and jumping in to lend a hand to help a friend or family.

She was the consummate mother and wife. Known as “Gran” by her grandchildren, she loved them with all her heart.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Paulsen and her 2nd husband, Kenneth Clarke; sister, Treva Fossler.
